Real Weddings - Hayley’s Elegant White Wedding
There are few things that can beat an elegant white wedding. That is exactly the style that Hayley chose for her spring wedding. There are a surprising variety of flowers that are available for this wedding color theme. When I sat down with Hayley for her consultation, we decided that the main flowers we would use were going to be calla lilies, orchids and oriental lilies.
The Bridal Bouquet
Hayley chose to have a shower bouquet (cascade bouquet) of white cymbidium orchids and calla lilies. These combined very well in the bouquet and gave a feeling of refined elegance. To give some definition against the bride’s white dress, I added some dark green ruscus leaves and beargrass.

The Bridesmaids’ Bouquets
The bridesmaids carried handtied bouquets created from white calla lilies.
These looked fabulous against the dark bridesmaids’ dresses that they were all wearing.
Calla lilies are a lovely flower to work with and give a sophisticated elegance to wedding.
Gent’s Boutonnières
The groom’s boutonnière was also created from a calla lily. Rather than simply use a single flower head, I always like to turn the gent’s boutonnières into a small work of art by finishing them to a high standard. In this case I used variegated china grass and ivy leaves to provide elegant foliage. The stem was then wrapped in decorative wire and finished with a pearlescent bead.

The father of the bride wore a boutonnière created from a white cymbidium orchid. It was finished to a similar standard with decorative wire and bead detailing.

We created some stunning tall wedding centerpieces for Hayley, consisting of a ball of oriental lilies on top of a white vase.
These looked wonderful in the chosen venue – a high-ceiling stately Hall, complete with chandeliers. These oriental lilies also provided a wonderful fragrance to the room.
The top table arrangement was created using white lilies, roses, cymbidium orchids and delicate Singapore orchids.
The reception decorations were finished with flower pedestals created from the same flowers.
After the wedding I received a lovely note from Hayley, in which she said:
"Delighted. I received so many compliments on the flowers. They looked beautiful"
